Greater Progressive celebrates 59 years

FORT WAYNE—Greater Progressive Baptist Church recently celebrated 59 years of service to God in the community with a special worship service including guests from the community and around the nation, including guest speakers Robert Jones Jr. and Robert Jones III of Keel Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn.

The theme for the celebration was MAKE (Members Advancing Kingdom Efforts) It Happen. Church officials utilized that idea to remind members that the work of the church is not finished.

FORT WAYNE—Frost Illustrated Publisher Edward N. Smith Sr. was among an elite group of area attorneys recently recognized for achieving a rare milestone in the legal profession.

The Allen County Indiana Bar Association recently feted Attorney Smith and four of his colleagues for 50 years of service in the legal profession.

Smith was presented a plaque commemorating his achievement at the Oct. 5, 2012 meeting of the professional association.
